The Riverside Festival on the Embankment is a bit like a large country fair - fairground rides, traction engines, crafts and stalls, food from around the world, boat races.   On the Saturday night however there's also a huge firework display, where you can sit on the river bank and watch the explosions across the water, reflected in the river.

Back in Nottingham for Christmas, a walk around the Lace Market before the tram works started, then down to the Council House to look at the Christmas market.  Finally a quick side trip to the railway station down to the canal.

Another early test of my first digital camera - various tricks to try and capture images in the dark, like changing the speed, were new to me.
