Photographs of Funfair

A sequence of eigth shots, trying to capture the lights shining on this ride. They always seemed to have moved on when I shot the image, so I kept shooting. #006 has at least some of the white lights showing.

The lights from another ride were interfering with this shot, so I kept moving closer. All the different versions have been kept though. #019 gets it right, but only after changing the speed of the camera.

A single, fairly abstract shot which I then decided to repeat as a movie...

A 15 second MPEG file (converting 12.5 fps MJPEG to MPEG, then rotating the MPEG 90° anti-clockwise - fun!) of two rides. Kind of an abstract light and movement show, especially as there's no sound, but fun to have running in the background on your desktop :)

/me forgets the speed control...

...the name of the stall says it all (at least with regards to resetting the camera anyway).

This one has a good flare effect, but has motion blur...

...this darker version has less blur, but lacks much in the way of light especially as the blue bars have gone off on the ride...

...this one has less blur than the first version, more lights than the second, but can't match the first's flare effect even when gamma corrected. At some stage maybe combining #028 with #026's lighting effects would be a good exercise.

Later software gives better results when altering the brightness, but it's a bit grainy.

Too blurry!...

...Too dark!...

...Oh, bugger it, move on.

Or, wait nearly six years and give software a chance.
